# Forgot password screen

Request an email link to recover access to your X-Buddy account.

## What it's for {#what-its-for}

Start password recovery when you cannot sign in. This changes your X-Buddy password, not your X password.

## What you see {#what-you-see}

- An email field and **Send link**.
- **Back to sign in** for returning to the login page.

## What you can do {#what-you-can-do}

- Enter your account email and choose **Send link**.
- Open the recovery link from the email to choose a new password.

## States and messages {#states-and-messages}

- **Sending…** appears while the request is running.
- An empty email shows **Enter your email.**.
- **Link sent** is conditional: an email is sent if the address belongs to an account. It does not confirm that an account exists.
- Request errors appear in the form.
