Inbox brings the message conversations of your X accounts into one place.

How messages arrive

Messages arrive when an X account's inbox is synced on its VPS. The inbox is a synced copy of X, not a live mirror — a brand-new message shows up after the next sync.

Reply

Choose a conversation, write your answer and choose Send. X-Buddy sends it word for word (only leading and trailing spaces are trimmed) from that X account, through X's real interface, and checks that it appeared. It's a job like any other, so it respects the X account's limits, run hours and safety.

If X-Buddy can't confirm a message was sent, it looks for it in the inbox and never resends it automatically. See Unknown outcomes.

X Chat passcode

X's encrypted chat asks for a passcode. An Owner or Manager can save it per X account; it's stored encrypted and never shown again. With it, X-Buddy unlocks X Chat by itself.

If X says the saved passcode is wrong, you'll see X rejected the saved passcode — click to enter it again. X-Buddy stops trying until someone enters the right one, so X Chat doesn't lock.

Manual follow-up

Turn on Manual follow-up for a person to take over by hand: they're removed from all sequences. Turning it off later does not put them back into any sequence.

A reply from the person also stops every live sequence for them — see Campaigns & sequences.

Drafts

What you type is kept as a draft per workspace, X account and conversation, in this browser tab. Drafts don't travel between devices, and a browser that blocks or fills its storage can't keep them.
