Growth automations

Clean up following, follow back, keyword monitoring, nurturing lists and competitor reading — off by default, previewed before they run.

Growth automations are recurring tasks on one X account. They live in the X account's Automation tab. Growth tasks start Off — you turn each one on yourself. The one exception is competitor reading: adding an active competitor turns on the reading task of the X account you chose to read it.

The tasks

  • Clean up following — unfollows people who don't follow back, with protections (below).
  • Follow back — follows people who followed the X account.
  • Keyword monitoring — collects posts that match your keywords, for Today; it can also like them if you choose.
  • Nurturing list — keeps up with posts from a list of people you care about.
  • Review competitors — reads the profiles and recent posts of the competitors assigned to the X account.

Preview first

Before you enable Follow back, Clean up following, a Nurturing list task, or Keyword monitoring with liking turned on, you must run a Preview. The preview uses exactly the same planning as the real run and shows, for each person or post: do, wait or skip, the action, the reason and timing, plus an estimate of daily reads and actions.

The estimate is an upper bound — every run using its maximum — not a promise. If you change an enabled task's settings, it may switch off until you preview and enable it again. Read-only keyword collection and competitor watch don't need a preview.

Cleanup protections

Clean up following never unfollows:

  • people on the Keep list;
  • people in an active campaign, or people you've exchanged messages with;
  • people followed recently — by default within the last 7 days (you can change this).

And Follow back doesn't re-follow people that cleanup unfollowed in the last 30 days, so your X account doesn't follow and unfollow the same person in a loop (Follow-unfollow protection: waiting for the required number of days).

Limits still apply

Growth tasks are jobs. They obey the X account's limits, run hours, warm-up and safety exactly like everything else — see Limits, run hours & safety.
